FRANKIE PEREZ is a Dominican-American artist based in New York and Montreal, whose visual identity is shaped by his background as a world-class breakdancer. His artistic practice is a form of "dreaming out loud," where he shifts between dance, photography, and filmmaking, with each medium enriching the others. As part of the inaugural Team USA breaking cohort, his photography and films capture motion and energy, blending fashion with a raw, youthful edge. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, i-D, DAZED, The Face, and Creative Review, with one of his images selected as one of the best of the year in 2021 by the NY Times Style section. He has collaborated with brands such as Converse, Maison Margiela, Reebok, VANS, Farfetch, Obey, and Red Bull.

Perez has published two photography books, including See Me Up? It’s ‘Cause I’ve Been Down, which explores the street-dance culture that influenced his upbringing. His work has been exhibited at the Salle d'exposition in Place des Arts and the Photo Book Cafe in London. He is also a recipient of the Queens Council of the Arts New Work Grant.
